Butterfly Effect

A beat of butterfly wings can set off a storm the world away, that is the butterfly effect BiJian intends to visualize.  The Camarillo artist paired 30 butterflies with a wave sculpture at Studio Channel Islands Art Center (SCIART), November 5 – 26, 2011.  A reception is 4-6 pm on Nov. 5 at SCIART gallery in old town Camarillo, CA.

Like a fish in water

BiJian showcases his weekly art creation. This week’s artwork is a paper sculpture titled like a fish in water. The synthetic paper used the artwork is water resistant, durable, and buoyant.

Float like a butterfly

This week’s artwork is a butterfly trail installed at the agriculture museum in Santa Paula, California.  The artwork integrated cutting, folding, curling, and other alternative sculptural techniques to form a light, airy, and kinetic paper sculpture.
